Timing chain advance/retard?

I agree. But do you have any friends like this that instead of backing up and re-grouping- they just throw more money and effort at it? Eventually they must do what is necessary. But until then they will infuriate anyone that tries to help. I say go back to square one and make sure everything is right. Once that is done it has to work. Well, maybe. We still have a big stupid cam in a dead stock 231. :doh:

Generally by the time they get to me they’ve about given up. Had a friend almost set the garage ceiling on fire from backfire so bad. I asked him is the cam in right and he swore it was. After finally checking tdc he had the cam gear lined up with the crank key way.
