I am the new owner of an 82 Malibu 4 door.

I need tires desperately and I am trying to find a set that will give me a look like the one below.

I found the size that this guy used and they were 235/60R15's. The car is stock with a 3.8 V6 and TH350 and is a 4 door as specified above. What is the best tire size for a 15 inch rim on this car. I have been looking at some that were 205-50-15's They are not white letters like I wanted but I think they are a good deal. 59.98 free ship from Discount Tire.com. They are Hankook HR II Ventus 205-50-15's to be exact. Pic is below.

I think the Cragar Soft 8's would look good on the car. As Beermonkey mentioned, the Primewell tires have the raised white letters and you can get them in 235/60 x 15. I have a set on one my beaters. They don't seem too bad...and they're cheap.

I would stick with the 235/60 regardless of tire brand the 205/50 look to be more of a small car/import tire and would be way too small for a gbody coming in at about 23" tall versus 26" for 60 series.
Tire rack also sells the BFG's

I agree regarding the 205/50 x 15's. Too small a diameter for our cars. Even the stock 14" tires were a little taller than that.
Aside from the Radial TA's, you could go with Cooper Cobras, Mastercraft, etc...maybe even Futura GLS from Pep boys.
Several brands have discontinued the 235/60 x 15 tires. Firestone, General, Uniroyal, etc.

I agree that I would check locally first if you are buying tires only because by the time you pay for shipping and then take your tires and rims to someplace to get them mounted and balanced it could end up costing more. I only buy drag tires on line the rest of my tires I buy locally.
I bought winter tires and rims from Tire Rack and that has been my only purchase from them but I saved a lot of money going this route because of it being a package deal and shipping for the set was only $35 from Indiana to Michigan.

Thanks everyone for the tips. I checked on the recommendations. The Primewells I found 75$ each, but it was over an hour drive from here. That would put me at a lot more per tire if you include the gas then adding mount/balance. I do think that the 235/60s would be a better fit for the car, but I am having trouble finding them anywhere close to 60 each. I can't really spend more than that right now. Plus I have to find a windshield which was unexpected. It's always something.

Any other tips for tires or glass for that matter. Please let me know.

Somerset, Ky. Wish I had the money. That is exactly the look I was wanting to go for. I was looking at either the soft 8 or one by basset which is similar, but has the D shaped holes. It is a stock car wheel. For now I was looking for something like 60/tire and use the 15 inch Centerline wheels that I already have.
