Looks like a nice combo. What was done to heads? I assume W31 valves?

I just did...catch some fish this weekend...nice weather here but probably cooling down pretty fast up there
I work tomorrow. We may sit at the reservoir Sunday. It takes a lot out of my Wife to sit in the boat and cast a rod. Our trolling motor died, not supposed to use a gas motor on the reservoir. Still waiting on my crank from the balancing shop.

With that bore I installed 2.07/1.68 only little pocket port from bigger valves, good valve job.

Those are very impressive numbers. They flow 210/170 with a bowl hog, minor blend and 2"/1.625" valves. Stock is 190/160. My #6 just have a bowl hog on both sides, 2.07/1.56" valves and machined for positive seals.

So I took the Six Liter Slug, our 2011 GMC 2500 Quad Cab 4x4 for a drive, not towing. It had an empty skid tank and two 205L of 15W40 and Trans Hydraulic Fluid. Supposedly it weighs nearly 6400 pounds empty. It is rated at 360 hp and 380 ft/lbs. It has the 6L 6spd auto. Climbing the valley, 3500 rpm, even empty on the way back or forget climbing the valley hill above 80 km/hr. It gets feed only 91 octane non ethanol Premium. My 4100 pound Dodge Challenger with a measly 268 ft/lbs of torque rarely needs to go above 2500 rpm to climb the same valley hills. Mostly 87 octane 10% ethanol Regular. I wonder if my boss will let me put those graphics on the truck?

As much as the "ls-fanboys" try to claim otherwise maybe what the takeaway needs to be is that the truck 6.sl0 is OK if you use your truck as a grocery getter / people mover... much like a 3.8l gbody.

But if you want that same truck to have legitimate towing/haul butt performance, you need something else in it... just like that 3.8 gbody.

Getting rid of our Duramax just so my Boss could have a prettier truck was insane. Not insane miles for diesel, no DEF and no major issues. I carried big loads with it, it didn't need 4000 rpm to get up and go. It did run hot towing a big load, going fast but just needed the rad and intercooler washed out, gravel roads and bugs. It is the 380 ft/lbs number is why I don't give it a pass. When I first put my 403, even with 2.56 gears in my 88 CSC, it would spin both tires like hell, Powertrax No Slip and suck me back in my seat, once I added decent exhaust. It still blazed one tire with a terrible exhaust system. That is what 350 ft/lbs feels like. I don't get that feeling at all with this truck till 3500 rpm empty or 4000 rpm towing. It's not mine, so I can't unleash all the well hidden power GM left in this thing, it doesn't make the drive very exciting, unless the pedal is to the metal.
