Performance Tools. Frankly if I'm working off of an engine stand I like the needle/beam type. But lots of times I'm in a position where I can't get a straight look at the needle so the clicker is necessary.

I have a Snap-on 1/2". The lock ring no longer locks, and Snap-on said there were no parts available to repair it. Won't be replacing it with another Snappy, their service level has slipped A LOT over the last 10-15 years, especially given the pricing.

Call precision instruments they make snap offs

Here are some of mine........yes I do have more........I use to actually build stuff......

You can see the precision instruments and snap off's are identical

The red digital is a craftsman i got of a super sale years ago.
I do not recommend it if they still have that type of head

I'll weigh in as I've done in the past. My craftsman units ended up breaking years ago and Sears wouldn't warranty them, so I got pissed and went and bought HF wrenches. I've been using the Pittsburgh TW with no issues in the past 15 or so years.
I even tested it up against a Matco, and Snap On and was like the video above. Hard to beat the price, even for the nicer Icon unit.

I watched that a while ago. While out of the box it may be more accurate, but what about over time?

I just watched it today and it had the same readings that you saw a while ago so over time I guess it stays accurate.....

I have a Snap-On click-type that is probably 15 years old.
It works great considering the limited use I've put it thru, except upside-down...
Holding the wrench upside-down to torque my body mounts it did not register correctly and ended up stripping out two nut-serts from over-torqueing.
Odd...

I have a Huskey (Home Depot) 1/2" drive clicker (50-250?). It was made in Japan and is very good quality for the money. I also have a Huskey 3/8" drive clicker that is 20-100?. Then I have a Tecton 1/4 drive for the inch pound stuff. Tecton is China but good quality stuff. I have a Snap-On 1/4 drive that broke almost immediately. I got it repaired by Snap-On in California on my dime and it broke again. Not from any abuse. It is a paper weight.
