So here's the story on this Century Turbo Coupe... Father bought it new in 1979. In 1990 the turbo and/or the motor blew ( nobody is sure ). The father passed away long ago, and the Son has stored the car in the garage since 1990. The turbo was removed, and is now missing. Fast forward 30 years, the Son was in a work related accident, and has been hospitalized for 1 year with a brain injury. He actually comes home today. The house, and garage, have been cleared out to prepare for his return home. The title has been lost over the years, and since the car is not running and needed to be moved, it will be free. I am hoping that he will be well enough to sign a Bill of Sale. Plan B is the Sister that will be caring for him at home, may have become his Power of Attorney, and could sign a Bill of Sale. IDK?? I am printing out (2) Bills of Sale, and taking them with me. Once back in Texas, I am hoping to apply for a Bonded Title, and get the car Titled in my name. I do not know all the details on this (maybe someone here does??). I have not had time to research it, but I do realize this may take months, and several hundred dollars. In the long run, I think it's worth it. The car rolls on it's own, and the brakes work. There is a set of keys, including the trunk key. The correct Turbo Coupe hood, rear spoiler, and wheels are there. The car has the correct original radio, power steering, power brakes, A/C, with manual windows. The dash looks to be pretty nice with no cracks that I can see. The speaker cover is straight, and appears to be crack-free. There is wear on the Dr. side seat bottom. The grill is cracked and peeling, and there is some minor damage on the passenger side door. I went and got the trailer, winch, battery, straps, a few tools, air compressor, and (2) spare wheels this afternoon. I am leaving very early Wednesday morning, in hopes to be in San Francisco Friday morning. I don't know why I do some of the things I do, but I have the time to take off from work, and my wife has not said one word about it, so off I go. This will be the 3rd Aeroback car I own. My plans are to restore it back to it's original state - no modifications. This will be a 1st for me, as I always restomod my cars / trucks. Wish me luck. I will update this thread when I get back home.
