Consumers only benefit from from lower prices when the products are of equal quality ! Which is seldom if ever the case , The only shareholders that truly profit from Chinese trade are at the very top ! Surely you know this , yes theirs some trickle down affect but you know what im saying. And my and your 401,s would be just fine if america never bought another thing from china ! And if it wasn,t you definitely need a new fund manager. And everything is not made in CHINA , yes they are duplicating a lot of goods at a alarming rates , but all hope is not lost . In a lot of the trades people are getting sick of the cheap crap there company,s have been buying and saying MAKE IT WORK ! The savings enjoyed at the time of purchase is coming back to bite them in labor cost of constantly repairing and replacing inferior part,s . I know , i do it a LOT !

This statement may have applied many years ago and I would probably have agreed to it then but I have paid the price for "quality" parts for many years and I am not about to put inferior parts on my car but if I find something that does the job equally or better regardless of where it was made at a fraction of the cost then that is what I am buying. IMO

I hear ya , i dont have unlimited budget either. And if there is any such part out there of equal quality at a fraction of the cost PLEASE post it for us all to see! Because i also will buy it .

Depends what you mean by "just fine". Without China in the picture, we would most certainly see a slower rate of growth in the market. That might be good enough for you...but not me. Considering the cost of healthcare, inflation, etc. I'm going to need every dollar I can get when I retire.

For starters post #2 on here, those Ebay no name fabricated aluminum SBC valve covers cost me $70 to my door, try to find a name brand set for under $200 and the quality is very nice on these and I have 2 sets for my BBC's that cost $90 for a pair and yes I could buy some Moroso valve covers for $322 but then their name would be stamped on it which I don't want either. This is just the beginning of many items I have found over the years.
These are just an Ebay example since I bought mine 10 years ago

If the parts sucked do you really think I would put them on this engine.

I bet you those Moroso's aren't made in Connecticut!!!

Thats a very nice neat build you have there ! And i probably would have bought those to at that price difference . BTW those AFR,S there sitting on are also cast, machined and assembled in the USA ! I am just saying if people look around there is still a lot of American made parts out there and usually the quality is much better and the price comparable , yeah sometimes a little more but i like supporting American made any time i can !
