UPDATE: HAD my colonoscopy today 1/17/2020...

This was what I was prescribed. Gavilyte-N with a lemon flavor packet glued to the side of it (now called NuLytely or something). That made no difference in the nasty taste. I asked about the little bottles but the doctor's opinion was this worked better. I've never had the small bottle routine, so I cannot make that determination, but if you're blowing nothing but diluted yellow bile out, that's the key. Weird. The first time I had it done was with my regular doctor scheduled me with a different doctor back then (I was 42 at the time, and ironically, the gastro doctor was named ASSad) and I took the same thing PLUS a small bottle of Magnesium Citrate. OMFG. That Mag Citrate felt like enough. I couldn't stop going it seemed.

All's well that ENDS well, I say! I just realized last night my next scope is in line with the scheduled septic tank pump-out in 2025.

I had my third one in July. Instead of the powder chalk mix I got 2 little bottles that were kinda cherry flavored. Same outcome but a lot more pleasant going into it.
Sounds like the Sure Prep that I had in May. So much better than that nasty gallon jug routine. Although after the one 11 years ago I still have that big jug in my fridge for cold water. Atleast I got a better use for it.

Not meaning to hijack but wanted to tell you guys as you approach 50 to get your PSA checked. Prostate specific antigen. Just done with bloodwork. Prostate cancer is too common and it got me. Getting your prostate removed is no fun and life altering to say the least

Agree. In a few months I'll be going to a higher range for my age group on PSA. 0-4.5 nanograms/ml. My last several blood test PSAs over the years have ranged between 0.1 and 0.3 ng/ml. Doctor says its basically at 0, so I shouldn't have anything to worry about there. But if it ever starts a "rapid" ascension, we'll need to look at it and do "free" PSA levels for comparison to determine if it needs further investigation or just a factor of age. A lot of things can affect a PSA result, so never take anything for granted when it comes to your health.

Mine was at a 2 for years and within 6 months went to a 6. By the time I had biopsy it was 7.8
No choice but to have radical prostatectomy.
Radical it is....

Finally, an appropriate thread for potty language.

stuckincincy's post is what Monty Python called Ripping Yarn! Nearly had an accident myself.

The PSA isnt a perfect indicator of prostate cancer. You always need the DRE with it. My brother in law had a PSA of less than 1 when he was diagnosed back in 2007. Mine went to 2.8 when I was diagnosed.
That being said, I had a radical done in July of 2008 at Sloan Kettering in NYC. Since the day I had mine taken out I know at least 30 other guys that have gone through it. Sad thing is I worked at a DOE site for just shy of 33 years. I was assigned to one building for 19 years. A total of 17 guys in that building had various types of cancer. 7 had prostate cancer. 3 of us worked in the same two rooms that were adjoining. All 3 of us worked together. I was 54, another guy was 46. Scary huh ? There was a vapor degreaser in the building. Look up TCE. Its not a good thing.
Since the surgery Ive been 100% cancer free. The surgeon told me after 5 years I would have a 95% chance of it never coming back. I think Im doing good. Does everything still work the way it did ? Nope. Im not pissing myself so thats the main thing but the rest gave my the idea for my plates on my wagon. My wife thought I was crazy until she saw it on the car. At my age it just doesnt matter. LMAO

There's a fix for that no woody syndrome:

Wrap it with two popsicle sticks and some tape. "Look honey, it's still in the crate!"
