some of you know my GP, and the specs are in my signature for those who don't. She has run a best of 12.9 @ 108mph, on slicks, by the previous owner.
I didn't build the car, I baught it mostly the way it is. A couple weeks after buying it, I ran it at the strip (my first time). I took it easy cuz I was new, and I didn't wanna crash. But even at 3/4 throttle, slow launches, and full trim (including push-bar), she consistantly hit over 100 mph, and a best of 102 mph accross the traps.
The next summer, I came back and she ran slow. She struggled to hit 100mph, and barely broke 14s... I was confused.
After 2 more events, she ran slower and slower each time, again barely breaking 14s and struggling to cross 100mph.
So I baught some slicks and went out again... On slicks, she bogged at the line, and fell on it's face on the top end. But I managed a 13.5, before a blew some valvetrain parts. Here's a video from last year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sJCSP0fUkM
Again, I was new to solid cams, and the lash had gotten so loose, some pushrods exploded. But I got it back together and got it running as smooth as ever for this summer.
So knowing she's running well now, the valves are lashed properly, and she's tuned... She should fly down the 1/4mile, right? NOPE!
... she's slower than ever!
