I'd wire it up without the resistor since you don't have gauges and if it doesn't charge then add the resistor

I've heard it will charge no matter what then fail in a few months frying the alternator. Not a good thing
Ritter do you have ec80 in stock?

If you are hooking up to a stock harness using the idiot light in the dash, the following parts can be used. These are non-resistor adapters:
- AC Delco: 8077
- Haywire: 2110
- Painless Wiring: 30707
- NAPA: EC80
- GM: 12083462

Right and I git ec82 because I only had 30ohms resistance. Well the ec82 has no resistance

Even though you have an aftermarket gauge you most likely still have the stock wiring harness. If you had no resistor in the charging system before now the system would never have charged.

Seriously that's where I'm confused. I have 30ohm resistance in the brown wire. It's been stated the cs alt requires 35-650ohms of resistance to work properly but will charge if not. However the alt will burn out in short time. So it seems I'm 5ohm under what they state. Now I'm using the factory habeas yes, my gauge is hooked through the fuse panel. I've just never seen my battery light work is all I was stating

well in that case I'd use the adapter with the resistor since that will leave you in the safe range...over 35 and less than 650...

That's why I was hoping Ritter has the 2 adapters in stock and we could walk him through measuring the resistance for me. I'm pretty sure I just git a mispackaged item. I got highly upset with napa when they said they would order me another one but I would have to pay the $8 freight for it. Very frustrating

Want to make a correction its 35-350ohms required to work properly not 650ohms

that's wrong that they charge you for their mistake. If you have a radio shack or the equivalent near by you can pick up a resistor to put in the wire for alot less than $8

Oh I let into them and they claim they will cover it
