V4 engine?

This is such a common dumb *ss mistake.. People calling L4 and L6 engines V4 or V6's.

But to make it clear there have been V4's... Honda and Yamaha have made them, plus Suzuki made what they called a "box four" it was a 500cc two stroke separated into two parallel twins on separate cranks connected together in a V4 formation. Yamaha built an even more unusual design utilising two reed valves and two rotary valves to achieved a V4 500cc two stroke GP bike. Also Lancia, Norton and Ariel, if I remember correctly have also built others on top of the ones I know of for sure.

I don't think anyone was saying there weren't V4's GM just didn't put them in Bonnevilles. I rode a V45 Magna for years, so V4's are not novel.

I'd Luv to see some pics of that. Every one I ever saw had an Isuzu L4.

You can find a few sites online selling them with goggle. I have never seen one but I did read a long article a few years back in a magazine about the GM Isuzu partnership and the question is was it gm rebadged as Isuzu or Isuzu rebadged as GM...

So the "timing belt cover" would lead us to believe it's also an OHC? I still need pics.

I see no mention of a V4. In fact, it says the 1.8 inline was the only engine option ever offered in the LUV.

I read that the only engine was the inline 4 so I guess the add was wrong about the v4...unless something pops up that verifies there was v4 I'll have to agree with you and I'm not buying one of those rebuilt just to see what gets delivered..

Perhaps someone swapped in this 1966 Evinrude V-4 and passed it off as a car motor?
