Then welded them in. Please no laughing, I am no welder, plus this is the first real thing I welded with this new welder.
don't be embarassed, those look a helluva lot better than the welds on my floorboards! 😳

Re: Another Daily Driver

Did you pressure test your exhaust manifolds after you finished welding them up to make sure there are no leaks?

Nope, sure didn't. I like to live dangerously like that! The plan was to get it started and let it tell meif there is any leaks.

Re: Another Daily Driver

So I ran in to a little snag with the spark plugs. I knew the driver side header was gonna be close to the number 7 plug but after installing it, I can't even get my finger between the plug and header. And that's without the plug wire on. Then on the passenger side I couldn't even install the number 4 plug. So after a little search I hope I came up with the answer. I bought two new NGK plugs today that will hopefully solve my issue without removing the headers. Here's a pic of what I came up with.

I know you don't want to hear this but I would remake your exhaust manifolds with the proper spark plug clearance or modify the exhaust manifolds you already made so they clear.
The short plug is going to cause more problems then the one problem it will solve.
For one thing it is probably for a lawnmower or something similar, the reach is far too short, it is a non projected tip plug and most likely the heat range is off, it will be totally schrouded in the spark plug hole and you would be lucky to get any worthwhile spark to ignite anything. What's the point of having an eight cylinder if it runs like it only has six.
