What is the purpose of a hei distributor without a vacuum advance and can a hei distributor without a vacuum advance be used in daily driver vehicles?Thanks

Vacuum advance is all about 2 things - idle quality and fuel mileage.

Why would you want to go without it? No vacuum advance = drag strip car.

I just got a distributor without vacuum advance on the shelf, so I guess I will just install a vacuum advance

The computer controlled & EST equipped engines generally use distributors with out a vacuum advance.

I'd buy a new distributor if I were you - having a spare is a good thing.

The distributor is new just no vacuum advance

Is the distributor capable of accepting vac advance?? If you install one get an adjustable canister to dial in your needs.
