VIN tampering

If you have to have this car by all means go for it !! No doubt it's a beautiful car and don't expect Vanguard to drop that price much if any. My advice is like buying stock - this one isn't a good investment.

THIS is a real 442, and a 1970 model for "only" $40K and the VIN looks good. Now, since new it was <$3K, that's completely ridiculous but I've seen 1970s not this nice go for $60-70K. Remember that fake 1971 W30 model was $49K? Only negative is they didn't upgrade the rear so it's still got the 8.2 but, anyone that's going to go beat on this beauty deserves to lose their rear end.

Now, this is not a W30 nor do they pretend it is but, as you all know, W30 meant you got a ridiculously long duration cam shaft, no manifold vacuum and it might well cost you an EXTRA $50K on this car. Yet,, my '87, if it ever runs again [it will, just doesn't seem like it] will eat a W30 for lunch.

I'm currently popping all the couch cushions looking for spare change . . .

It's too bad the old Cutlass Supremes are never seen anymore. I do like the non-fastback look. A 1970 Cutlass SX would be a sweet car.

Well, never too old to learn. I just need to plan on staying away from convertibles AND vinyl top cars unless I want a restoration project. That beautiful white 442 above has paint bubbles along both sides where the top meets the paint. So, you know it's solid rust under the top. Did a facetime walk around with the guy today. Only other thing was it was previously white and they didn't bother to re-paint the door jams, inside of trunk, etc. so that all just looked a little weird. By itself, not a deal breaker though.

The search continues . . .

Being that I'm now middle aged . . . I should be looking to drive a Buick already. Ran across this today . . .

It is an actual GS but not a true Stage One. Apparently came with the small block?
