Vortec heads

I just noticed in the one photo without the intake, you can see the dabs of RTV I put under the 'ears' on the intake gaskets. I used only RTV to seal the ends under the intake. The GM Vortec gaskets don't need sealant around the water ports - they have silicone embedded on the plastic gasket material.

Oh yeah. That's a nice motor and some good looking heads. I hope mine will look that nice when finished. About how long would you think it would take to swap heads and intake. The motor is in my car and running so everything is hooked up

I'd estimate a day to get everything apart and a day to put it all back together if this is your first time. Go to the car wash and powerwash as much junk off the engine and underside of the hood as possible. Get some blue painter's tape and a sharpie marker and label the two halves of everything you disconnect. Get about four cans of spray brake cleaner and some paper towels. Use a shopvac to clean all the boogers out of the cylinders before you put things back on. The alternator bracket may need some modification to fit the Vortec manifold. Get a razor blade holder at the parts store and carefully clean the block's gasket surface, wipe down with brake cleaner.

Sounds like you've done this a few times lmao. Thanks for the help I truely appreciate it.

Most definitely. I'm hoping it won't be too hard just time consuming. If it takes me a few days that's no problem. I spent weeks on just the wiring for the engine so this will be fun as long as I don't run into problems I won't be frustrated

48706 zip code

It's $26 with 4 business days delivery which is the cheapest. That's for all the rockers, pivot balls and nuts. If you want them just pm me your address and I'll cover the cost of shipping and you just pay me when you get them.
