This is what you need to swap out those front springs safely.

I bought one for myself & is worth it, O'reillys even ordered in a new one just for the purchase.

Not to hi-jack the thread, but I just replaced my lower front control arms with the tubular spohn units on my GN. I've done the job successfully before with stock control arms by lowering the frame side of the A-arm to remove, then re-install the new spring, with ball joint attached. This time, with these particular control arms, my previous method didn't work. I borrowed a spring compressor from Advance, and the spring, as I would compress it, would bow/curve away from the A-arm seat making it impossible to install. I found another way, which was successful, was to put the shaft of the spring compressor down through the shock upper attachement hole in the frame, hook the spring, and compress it up towards the frame. An additional advantage of this method is that there is considerably less danger of a spring getting away if the spring compressor fails.

just looked @ rock auto, and KYB gas-adjusts are cheaper than getting regular shocks through the advance auto website, and there's usually a code in the classified threads for an additionl 5% off..

The State 1 UMI Kit took the boat feel away for me, but I'm with everyone else that said, go with MOOG. It's just a lot cheaper.

Try installing new shocks and see how it feels. Hope you have front and rear sway bars - if no rear - thats you next move.
What rear sway bar would you recommend? How do I install it?

Stock 1" bar would be sufficient. there are spacer brackets that go in the rear lower control arms to prevent them being crushed by overtightening the bolts. 4 bolts bolts it to the inner faces of the rear lower arms.
