What is the U-Haul box on the transmission for?

Looks like it's right next to the VSS plug? Probably a speed governor or something.....

Recently purchased a NEW steering gear box. Received it the middle of last week. Today, I ordered a NEW power steering pump, and pressure reducing kit. Expecting that to arrive Monday or Tuesday of next week. Also ordered a NEW wiper motor, and NEW washer pump, both for delay wiper setup. I will wait to see if the old delay switch works, because if not, I will order two, one each for the '78 (with '81 dash and wipers), and one for the '79. The delay '79 wipers only work when knob is turned to minimum delay, plus low, and high speed.

Our boy Burning gave me the lead a Cutlass just landed at Pull a Part this week. Swung by today to check out the trunk floor. It's solid AF so I'm gonna try to get there tomorrow and cut it out.
I did snag the clear turn lenses(couple small starbursts in them but good for spares!), radio bezel, a electric trunk popper with button and latch assy, trunk lock, and some misc emblems just cause....

My Bluetooth thingy arrived today. Hopefully the Delco radio will go under the knife this weekend if I can get a free moment.
