I decided to keep the car with a carb for the time being. So today I ordered a cam from Summit's LS pro cam line up. After talking to them I decided on the "Stage 3 cam" comes with seals gaskets dual spring trick flow springs with titanium retainers. the cams range is from 3200-7000 RPM. I also picked up some chromoly push rods as well as LS7 lifters, their house brand bushing type rocker trunnion upgrade and some 90/10 shocks for the front.
tomorrow I'm going to pick up another carb intake. I'm switching from a performer Rpm (dual plane) to a Victor jr( spingle plane).
this weekend I'm going junkyard hunting for another set of heads and to pick up a new set of wheels(that will be a surprise).
The last thing i need to pick up is converter spected up to the cam.

Looks like we were all wrong lol! The problem ended up being the older style 1157 I had in the taillights from years back. I never messed with it, was in process of doing bodywork and paint. Those must not have the flasher capability in them and was using the other bulbs to short out. I pulled all 194 bulbs but left old and new LED 1157's and same issue. Put regular 194's in the license plate, rear and front side marker with same results. Pulled new 1157's with same results. Pulled old 1157's and ding all lights functioned as intended. Started installing 194 LED's back in one pair at a time and testing to see. All light function as designed and the front side markers flash with the turns which I think is cool. Anyways, problem solved, gotta go pickup another pair of new 1157's for the tails, then get proper front turn bulbs because those are old style LED too.
Sounds like you had 1156 (single element) bulds in 1157 ( dual element) sockets. Look ing the socket on the bottom if 2 contact strips its an 1157 socket.

Can of refrigerant and a R12 to R134A adapter 🙂

Maybe, not sure tbh, I'll take a look here shortly and see. Pretty sure they were 1157's as I have 1156's in the front.
