I don't have an ashtray. I will probably mount it between the console glove box and the switch plateThe rectangle one may blend in better where it closes the ports. But that’s just my opinion. Or put it where the ashtray goes.

I plug my radar detector in there just going to keep that as an accessory portRound one in the cigarette lighter hole.
Is room available on the back of the console? Not easy to plug in when driving though. Or inside the console glove box keeping it close at hand, wire for phone can come out the cover and remain hidden from site. Once the cord is plugged in ,unless in the way, can stay plugged in. Other idea, they make tach mount that to the right of the gauge cluster and would mount it next to your phone holder and not put any holes it the dash or console. Think it was a GN parts site.I don't have an ashtray. I will probably mount it between the console glove box and the switch plateView attachment 189252
I just put a set of headers on her. Thanks for offer thoughYou looking for cast manifolds for that? I have one from a 430 and one from a 455. I was about to put up for sale.
I painted it up and added my new dual 4 air cleanerTemporary as came with motor
If the car makes noises just turn up the radio 😉XS Power D3400 battery and 200 amp alternator in preparation for my sound system install.
See if a diesel truck fan clutch is closer. Is the motor sitting that far back? The 455 I had in my 78’ 442 had a 74’ Delta 88 fan clutch and sat right inside the shroud. Have to see if I have any old pictures of the motor.I picked up my fourth fan clutch in my ongoing attempt to properly place the fan within the 'Olds style' shroud I recently purchased to use in the Malibu. The clutch I picked-up & tested today has things closer than the first three attempts so I'm @ least on a path now. I'm gong to keep digging & see if there's anything more aggressive as I feel I'm still .750-1" away from the fan being properly centered within the shroud opening.
Note the varying depths between each of these as measured between the fan-blade mounting pads & the fan-clutch pedestal base where it seats @ the water pump pulley. The #2797 is a HD unit that was originally recommended. It turns out it was actually a 'Severe Duty' truck unit. With the fan placement definitely off, I tried the #2747 & the #1707, Those showed I was on the right path so I ordered the last one (#2731) to compare.
