This one ?Look up a Hayden Super Cooler
I might just try that. Do you have it bypassing the rad or tied in? Worst case, if I was. To move it to the back later I can just use it and add a fan.Yup I've ran that one and it definitely works.
My SS is a 6spd manual, I ran that cooler on all my auto setups and if it's something with a locking Converter, I'd run it through the Radiator to keep the fluid warm enough to where it locks up in colder weather, that cooler works that good. Computer controlled Lockup has a min temp the Transmission needs to be at.I might just try that. Do you have it bypassing the rad or tied in? Worst case, if I was. An elusive little critter called a round-handled dipstick. I have a wad of dipstick tubes for the 307, but not many original style round-handled dipsticks. I have several of those yellow T-handled ones that are THE SAME PART NUMBER, but they look stupid to me, and not proper for an 80s Olds. IIRC, they changed these up in the late 90s. And they did it without any fanfare. I went and ordered a handful of dipsticks at the dealership and was surprised to see the yellow handles when they came in. USUALLY, GM changes part numbers when the vendor, and/or casting or piece changes or is modified. This change may have been noticed by me and about 3 other people in the world who might care. I know a lot of people don't care much about restoring a G-body to stock, because many people don't. Regardless, who would welcome a yellow T-handle dipstick on their G-body?
There's a few USED round-handled ones on ebay, but with $25 price tags on them. I found an NOS one for less than the going used prices, so I got it. Price was even better because the seller sent me an offer price for even less just because I looked at it, I guess. I couldn't pass it up for that price.
The yellow T-handled dipstick- there are plenty around. If you need one just to function for you because yours is coming apart or bent up or damaged, sure, go buy one. GM p/n 22532121. If you're restoring your Olds engine, then no. You don't want this style. You can't order this by part number alone and think you're winning, you need to actually see it to know if you're getting the right one, if it matters to you.
T-handled version looks like this:
Here's the one I bought, and is the correct end style as OE:

I installed the solid mounts on my 87SS when I did the off frame along with all the poly bushings. My body is getting too old to feel all the bumps and a super stiff body so I removed everything and installed the OEM rubber bushings. Car rides smooth and gravel doesn't feel like rocks on the road. Hope it works out for you.UMI Performance Rear Drop Springs & TRZ Solid Aluminum Body Bushings showed up for the SS.
Might be tomorrow's project. 🙂
