What did you buy for your G body today? [2022]

Well I've been back to Olds parts .com and bought a bunch of items including seats foam, carpet and a bunch of odds and ends, starting to collect a inventory for when a strip down the 87 442 and do a frame off this fall.
Just cross your fingers that there isn't any issues with dealing with that guy. He'll likely blame YOU for any problems you encounter if history proves correct.

No kidding… well I ordered a couple times from him over the last week just trying to collect stuff I’ll need so hopefully it goes ok but that’s good info to know. I plan on going on the other g body supply sites to order other items and replacement pieces. I’m open for good suggestions also about sourcing parts needed. I tell ya I wish I had the hindsight to get a stash of this stuff from the dealer when I was younger but then again when you’re younger you really don’t realize that stuff.

I just noticed the horn symbol, is that something they started to put on the pads starting in 1985 and on. As many of them I worked on back then I never noticed it not that I was looking for it.
Did a bit of digging around and it APPEARS that the little horn symbol started with the 1987 sport steering wheel horn caps. Although the part number didn't change. So this is one of those deals where if you had say, an 85 or 86 car and got a new horn cap, if you didn't buy it before the 87 model run, you were going to get the one with the little horn symbol on it.

Went to the U Pull It and got 5 overhead consoles while I was there, turns out they were almost paying me to take them

Now mount them all side by side on the Monte roof. NO MORE SAGGING HEADLINERS! YAY!:friday:
Hahaha speaking of might have to do that one the GTO, its sagging and when I looked the other day might fight up pretty well

After doing some reading in my newly purchased NHRA rule book, I discovered that I'm not done buying. So I worked the plastic a little. Didn't know I needed a window net and SFI padding on the cage.

An interesting moment in the book, I need a locking transmission dipstick with 'aircraft clamps'. WTH is an aircraft clamp? I've been on an airplane or two and I don't recall ever seeing a clamp let alone a dipstick clamp.

I'm beginning to believe the No Hot Rods Allowed club is a pita.

You need to post pics when you find this stuff. Aircraft clamps!?!?

Section 21 page 16 paragraph 2:14. In case you didn’t know.

I don’t know if I’m trying to build a race car or going to summer bible camp.
