What did you do at work today?

Decided I had better things to do than go to work today.

The Jr. Mechanic's school had their veterans activities today so I had to let him show off how awesome his dad is. Don't like the beret hair I have cause after 29 years, my service cap's leather strap gave up the ghost & had to wear that damn thing instead for a last minute change.

Went back to the JBK shop and got a little souvenir.

you could probably sell that on eBay for a large chunk of change to some Supra racing fan-boi. unfortunately, your scavenging days would probably be over after that 😭
What he's really got to do is collect spare parts over 2 or 3 years. Then, weld a cheap azz tube skeleton on an old frame of the right wheelbase to hang the bruised up parts on to make a complete "shell" of a car.

Primer it, label it 'not street legal' and throw a clapped out small block in it, and sell it for 6 figures on ebay.

Spent most of the week before Christmas ensconced in the South Yard Stores with the occasional foray out to the compound to watch the sewer and water crews wrestle with fire hydrants and associated components in the minus 20 silli-sycle temps. When it wasn't cold enough to freeze the balls off the proverbial monkey, it was just warm enough to snow, about 20 inches as of this evening along with a Polar Vortex driven wind to push the white **** along. Seriously thinking about starting a book on how long the tree in front of my buddys; house is to going to remain standing; getting some serious and constant creak-age out of it due to the wind gusts.

Day five was supposed to be an out day but got called in the night before to sub for a sub because we had run out of any other warm bodies to plug into the system. I have always maintained that, for them to call me, things have to have already gone straight to hell because I am the last resort. After me is nothing but dust bunnies and silence; the barrel is empty.

Well it was last night but did my 13th strait day, second day of double time within seven. Had to deal with more traffic after everywhere shut down for the holiday than when all the last minute shppers were out. And a PSA to those passing a plowtruck at night, don't be a dick running only with hi beams or turning them on when you see one. Last night it seemed everyong was playing hi beam the plow trucks.

it's the goddamned headlight bulb manufacturers. I'm in a truck and the damned sedan cars are blinding me with their Sylvania SilverStar Ultra's on high. makes me wish I had superbright spots mounted on the front aimed at oncoming traffic that I could flip on/off
