What did you do at work today?

It’s spring type weather here in central mn. Our little shop usually sees a busy time when people crack their windows open on their autos when the weather warm up. Chev 2500 with 6.0 has duel inlet single out. Not waiting for direct replacement muffler two in stock 3in mufflers and custom ypipe fixed err up. Alittle more rumble than stock.

Built the form yesterday, poured 5 yards of concrete today. Our new 25hp vacuum pump will be going on this after we build an enclosure for it. I forgot to snap a pic after I edged it and gave her the old broom finish.20210324_123826.jpg20210324_123840.jpg20210325_140351.jpg

Changed the wheels and paint scheme on Norman's rendering. He's still undecided but gravitating towards the new red version.

Today was my appointment day to pick up my badge to access the airport property with my work truck. Because work would have been otherwise slow today, I opted to take the rest of the day off and go to the wrecking yard. The closest of my local
Pick-n-Pull wrecking yards has a front wrecked '85 Grand Prix from which I gained an AC/heat control panel including the vacuum lines back to the connector, and several inches of wiring harness to go with the switch plugs. It feels like it moves smoother than my existing controls. I also grabbed the rear window defrost switch and about 8 inches of harness to keep around in case I add rear defrost to my Caballero. Some would say that I don't need rear defrost with such a small cabin, but those concave rear windows are difficult to scrape ice from in the winter. Nearly all of the interior that had any value was stripped.
The other vehicle (I actually sought it out first) that I got parts from was an '86 Pontiac Trans Am which still had both of it's electric wedge mirrors intact. I have wedge mirror buckets already, so I only bought the electric motors and the mirror glass to finish converting the wedge mirrors that I have.
Tomorrow, I plan on going to a different Pick-n-Pull location farther from home. Their website is showing two g-body vehicles that were both added to their inventory in the last week or so. I don't know about Pick-n-Pull locations in other regions, but the four near Seattle usually send cars to the crusher after only 4-8 weeks. It is rare to see a car on their website that has been in the yard more than two months.

fooking thrashing and grinding at friends shop for 13 days straight ( same place I bumped the car into the pole ) from 0730 to 1800 hrs daily. Phone says I walk 10 to 15 kms a day. Just 3 of us ( thx covid ) getting this place ready. That has gotta be 8-9 miles. Started at 0600 and by 1000 today ( saturday half day ) I had enough and shut the site down. Dusted the interior, then the walls, now scrubbing then washing then scrubbing the floors again. It's a 90k sq\ft warehouse he is trying to seal up and make it food grade worthy by first of May. Im trying to get done my April 9 but shooting for the 5th so I have some time for touch ups.

Almost there but I am grinding these 2 girls into pulp LOL. Ill stand by it though, when it comes to a tough long job, the women get it done so much better and with less backtalk than the guys. Get everyone on "task" and they will grind that sh*t out. Yeah they are 20 years my junior but man they work hard. Little grumpy when I picked them up at 0545 this morning but who wouldnt be ??

No work for me today. Earlier in the week I prepped and painted the hood, gate, and some other parts for the bronco. Then Wednesday-Thursday I got the truck painted. A lot more work than I ever thought anyone would pay to have done on a 90 Bronco, but to each their own. Came out ok. Truck didn’t lay down as well as I would’ve liked, but I’ll be colorsanding it flat anyway.

Black and gold I’d Smokey’s paint scheme. Still looks good on most cars though. Either one is nice.
What you said. Both are kind of knock offs, but he's after that vintage-ish race car look. Thanks for the compliments!
