What did you do at work today?

We were debating that idea a couple days ago. Can you punch a hole all the way through a DPM muffler and make it run without triggering a differential pressure sensor code? The problem right now is getting parts. DEF senders and DPF mufflers are backordered to who knows when. We have 8 machines down right now and counting.
Yes and no. So when deletes are done, it is as simple as when we did with cats. Just drill it or chisel it’ out. What’s not so simple is the ecm and calibration side. It won’t only be the pressure sensor but also temp since the doc won’t be there to create the heat it needs. The simplest way to do it to find an ecm code from overseas for the same base engine but no emissions or I had a guy in Miami that had software to actually rewrite the factory calibration and remove the emissions stuff and let me tell you deletes make a ton of money. We did full deletes including EGR. $5-7k (in about 3-4hrs)depending on the customer
We are on the same boat with the DEF headers, we currently have 13 truck on the lot waiting. They are on a national backorder.

I figure so, but if a guy drills one hole in a half plugged muffler will it function with out triggering a code? So someone came up with software to delete machine engines? There would be a big market for that here. We have a couple deleted Fords. The problem is for people that don't know is: typically you can get 5000 hours out of a muffler if it does quite a bit of idling. For a machine that runs 24 hours a day, that is a years time. The mufflers cost around 5000 bucks. That adds up fast. Right now trying to get parts for emissions sides of things is hard.

Yesterday I had a little incident... Got hit right in the mouth with the hook end of a 2 inch strap while I was strapping down a load of pipe on one of our flatbeds.

Had to fill out an incident report and all that stuff but I made it to the dentist today and he patched it up pretty well.

For the 1st time in 6-1/2 years one of my biggest fears came to pass, catching the shred truck on fire. A customer must've had a battery or a few in with their papers. Battery goes through shredder essentially ripping it open, acid warms up and friction causes heat, whoosh it goes! Fire dept. was literally a block away so they got there quick and put it out!
2 days left to go before I move on to Sysco foods and dang If I'm trying to go out in a blaze of glory lol!!!! For the record, shred truck assembly is good as the fire didn't reach the hydraulic system, so I've been driving and shredding since. Never a dull moment as they say!

The juries still out on this tech rep thing for me. Today I Helped reconfigure a paint mixing room today with a painter. Then I went to a shop to tackle a paint problem with a guy that poses as a painter. He’s had so many problems in the few weeks I’ve been on the job, yet none have been his fault. If it were up to me I’d have fired him a long time ago. My guess is his days are numbered.
My wife thinks I’m nuts for missing busting my *ss in a shop.
