Yep, had to when I got my A license. It sucked for me.
Cut metal quickly, clean, and VERY precisely.
For the driver test, it might depend on your state, and the person testing you.
Normally, in practice, there is no need to parallel park, but if you know how, you will impress a lot of people.
I will occasionally parallel park with my dump trailer, but that is only when I stop to take a break and I cannot just pull in behind another vehicle at the curb. When I do that, I pull along side the area I am considering to be sure the length of room needed is there, look for shadows and visual markers of any kind, then proceed while keeping a keen eye on making sure no other vehicle slips in unaware.
We were debating that idea a couple days ago. Can you punch a hole all the way through a DPM muffler and make it run without triggering a differential pressure sensor code? The problem right now is getting parts. DEF senders and DPF mufflers are backordered to who knows when. We have 8 machines down right now and counting.
