Started a new job back in August, waaaay up north. Bank screwed me and I couldn't build my shop this year, so the rod shop is on the backburner while I make some money and get it built.
Got to drive my loader up the mountain the other day, that was pretty badass
Oh the boss comes and checks about every two hours on the progress. This is for IBM and needs to be delivered to them by December 8th. Mind you, we still don't even have all of the parts to build it... FML
get up at 7:45, go downstairs, make coffee, walk into my home office, browse the Internet 8 hours a day.....Bonus: No TPS reports! 👍
they even told me before hiring me "we won't have much for you to do" ... they weren't kidding! on the flip side, it gets boring browsing all day long, but I do get plenty of time to work on my online Masters degree. 🙂
Made holes disappear on the state roads in my section of the county until the next snow & the plows rip the cold patch material back out. Rinse & repeat.
Nothing. Last rotation in was on Monday. Typical Monday in the world of the local uncivil service bureaucrap. No one knows anything and no one will commit to a comment or decision. Engineers managed to move one step forward? in turning the streets around city hall into a permanent bus parking zone. Didn't miss a thing except the cold/wet/sloppy mixture of snow/rain snot that is the main forecast for the next few days. Managed to end run that experience. By the end of this week I will be one year older and sometimes it feels more like 10!
