Painted the underside of the hood in anticipation of the liner coming in the next day or two.

I had my uncle soda blast the 8.5 I picked up from Tobyp a few weeks ago. Then I welded on some better brakeline brackets, new spring perches, and then I coated it with POR15. All I need now is a 28 spline limited slip carrier and a stud girdle cover for it.

I also got my heads back from the shop. I went in with 2 sets of stock 049 castings, 1 of which was junk 😢 They were milled .020", all new guides, 2.19", 1.88" valve upgrade, and a pretty good port/polish job. Casting core shift claimed one so I got 3 heads back. Then I tested out the color im gonna use on the spare along with my new valve covers.

Then I got the bottom end torqued down, cam installed, and Cloyes double roller intalled. Im gonna CC the heads then put them on so I can paint it!

I changed the headlite switch which I have been meaning to change for over a year. It's not a hard job but I am extremely proud of myself on two counts.

1. I maintained by status of a procrastinator
2. I bought the part over a year ago and never lost it

LOL - same club here. Last week I installed the set of 4 shocks I bought a year ago last spring. As well the PS Window Switch on the DS door has been acting up since last fall. I have a BN one in my toolbox just never got around to installing it !! Procrastination is the key !!

Received my hood insulation from Ebay in the mail today and got it installed. Didn't come out too bad. I'd like to do some airbrush artwork on it over the winter, maybe a 442 or Rocket logo of some kind.

Got the big block cleaned up and painted. My cylinder head dowel pins didnt come in so I just took old head bolts, cut the heads off and used them as studs to hold the heads.

With the freshly painted 8.5
