Blah. Its getting to that time of year were us cold climate people have to put our cars up for winter. With the birth of my baby girl this year, and the building of our new house. Its an understatement to say my 86 cutlass has been put on the back burner, but I think I done the most important thing any of us car enthusiast can do. And that's simply get it out, fill up the gas tank , and DRIVE!!!! I think we all get caught up on what we need to do, or the next big project we want to do to our cars we sometimes forget to just drive them. Don't get me wrong I really enjoy tinkering on my car, and turning wrenches, but it was nice to just cruise today. My attempt at a funny car burnout was probably the highlight. Lol. Let's not forget to drive them. Even if we have to drive them ugly.

been working on floor repair due to rust holes . spent today removing the old seal seam. sanding the floor. prep the metal for Por -15.Replaced the old seam seal, after going to several auto parts stores and only one knew what seam sealer is lol. good old Napa. will be painting the floor tomorrow. i will post pics of floor when it is painted.

Had a new Catalytic Converter installed yesterday, car is running great now. Today I swapped out a defective alternator, did my front brakes and changed my oil

Pulled the engine out of the 442 Sunday, and got started with the cleanup today (apologies for the lengthy post).

Cleanup time

Note the silver tag between the motor mounts - looks like a service tag (block probably replaced under warranty).

A greasy mess

Trans removed

KZF Tag

Looking better already

Lots left to do...still have to get it on the stand. Was getting ready to put it on the stand, and realized I forgot something...long enough bolts to go through the bracket that mounts to the block  I'll pick some up next time I'm at the hardware store (grade 8 preferred!)

BTW, what is that blue junk on the front of the converter? It felt like a powder...perhaps anti-sieze, or a dry lubricant?

Floor Is Finally Done. Pain In The Butt,,,,,,,,, POR-15 the floor this morning. next week the new carpet. looks alot better the a whole and rust.
