What did you do to your G-Body today? [2011-2018]

I wanted the increased spring rate in addition to hitting a height.

Understand completely, same here.

I was mostly musing about the idea some people have that an unmolested G body today rides at the same height as it did new

I am fortunate in that I have an older TRW/Moog spring catalog that gives all the specifics as far as rate, free length, installed height, designed load, wire diameter, and ID of coil. I chose the 5660s for the rate , height, and load. I made the mistake once of installing new stock rate springs....way too soft for my liing

Took some glamour shots of the engine yesterday. Gotta clean up some wiring. But hey, it works.

Drove out to the shop to work on one of my other projects, and made a new hood ornament for the Chief while I was there...

Played musical chairs with the cars. The TBSS is mobile again, so I got to drive the Monte through the snowy yard to the back bay - I was expecting it to get stuck (low, wide and baldish tires, and 4.56 gears). Now we can start chopping it up.

Got the drive shaft in. Wish I had heat in the garage so I'm not working until it's too cold to hold onto things. Next challange is seeing if I can work with the powersteering pump with it clocked in the wrong position (damn fits all rebuilders) Maybe O'Reilley's can swap pump for pump since they are the only ones local with the correct reservoir.

I'd love to see a fan shroud on it and a molded upper radiator hose. Nice work though. It looks great.

I think the V8 cutlass shroud isn't deep enough. There's a good 6 or so inches between the fan and the radiator. It runs at a rock steady 195 with a 195 'stat in. I do also want a molded hose. Dumbass parts stores don't carry them, I'd have to special order it or buy one from summit. If it aint a Chevy, parts stores can't be bothered with it. And thanks. 😀

Try RockAuto on the hose.
