Went on a drive today, my brakes felt weird. The brake light was coming and going. I thought "Oh that vacuum hose is probably popping off", as I've had that happen before. Nope. All my fluid in the front reservoir is gone. And there is a dark puddle of what looks like black coffee where the rear end of my car was a day or so ago. So, need to find the leak, probably near the rear end, and fix it. Might as well replace the rubber hoses up front as well and now is a perfect time to replace all my missing brake fluid. :L
That crap happens, just be glad you were at home or close and it didn't happen going down the road at speed!!!
Just when I finished my EFI swap, literally had one week to a big show and noticed a spongy pedal and the light was on. I could hear a spraying sound everytime I pressed the pedal. Sure enough, I had a pinhole leak along the framerail under the driver side door.
With a lack of funds from the efi swap, I slapped on a compression fitting (i know, i know) to get it mobile for a shakedown run. I ended up running like that until the resto began and I put all new lines on.
Definitely put some new flex lines on, and if you can do it, get the braided ones. They do make a difference and will stiffen up the pedal.

I ordered me some new LED's for the license plate lights, reverse and rear side markers. The anticipation of the Cutlass coming home has me giddy, I'm ready to get it back together....very carefully that is lol!

Tape up everything. Use old blankets to protect that paint!

You better believe that!!!! I will be getting some rolls of blue household painter's tape this week since it's not as sticky as the automotive stuff. Probably acquire a new, softer cover for it while I'm not working on it also.

Old blankets? I think it deserves new blankets!

Got me thinking now. My wife hoards fleece blankets, because you know we have to be "prepared" lol. A few of said blankets might find their way into the trunk of my car for CuTTlass duty. I also might go ahead and write my will just in case .

Ordered a Quick Performance 9” housing, axles, a 3.90 gears set and a SSR mainshaft for my T56.

Does anyone have a output extension housing for an F body by chance. :D

The previous owner totally hacked up my HVAC system. I was able to get it to work somewhat, and it was tolerable until this past week when the polar vortex had other ideas. So I cashed in my gift Christmas gift cards from Summit and got this:

I'm a huge fan of Vintage Air products as I have one of their Generation II Air/Heat/Defrost systems in my Non G-Body.

Since my car is a winter beater, all I really needed was a beater with a heater. But I popped for the defrost feature as well. The round ducts in the front supply that. The heat comes via an electronically controlled trap door in the bottom. The heater control valve is also electronic as are all of the supplied controls. No vacuum whatsoever which allows for blending heat and defrost..

It is very compact measuring only 10" wide by 10.25" tall by 6" deep. I'm excited to get it installed but can't afford to take the car off the road for a day or so. It will likely need to wait until Spring when I have other members of the fleet operational.

Got me a Genuine GM 3 bar map sensor in the mail today. The Holley Mid Rise calls for this specific sensor, which is good because it will read boost properly as it's the OE replacement for the LSA engines. The only catch is I need an adapter harness, but Holley has the market on that part lol! No more spending until I get the Cutlass out of the paintshop(kinda scared to hear the total!!!!).
