i was going to to the full dress 350 from blueprint that was a complete drop in then jegs did the aerocoupe buil;d and moved me over to buying a atk motor from jegs.its nearly the same power and atk spec'd the motor the way i would if i was doing it myself, choppy cam, billet roller rockers, aluminum heads and intake and i ordered a chevy performance serp belt conversion and fitech im going modern reliability with old school v8 chop being more displacement i know your 383 will have a better sound though.

'Twas a busy day at the House of Hero.

Installed a Bosch relay in line for the recently finish heater and defroster so that it will turn off with the key since it was wired straight to the battery (per instructions.)

Got the car up in the air and pulled the wheels. Previous owner used a cheapie set of headers that I can tell were the last thing he installed because the exhaust system is in the way of everything. I took them off to make more room to access the brake distribution block on the framerail that I'm going to replace. The headers being gone will also facilitate changing out the valve guide seals that will be the next repair.

While the headers are off, along the lines of function over form, I massaged a few spots with a torch and a BFH to make a little more clearance to get the bolts down for the starter as well as clear the frame on the driver's side. I also cut the flanges between the tubes where they bolt to the heads. This way the tubes bolt up separately from the ones next to them and helps them seal better. I've never had a leak after doing this trick on any pair of headers I've installed and these will go back on with a set of copper gaskets top and bottom.

Also pulled the front calipers and brake rotors. Going to get a slight cut done on the rotors and have new calipers, pads and flex hoses to go back on the front. S-10 wheel cylinders and the bolt-on brackets to go on the rears.... since I need to bleed the entire system anyway.

I have O.E. aluminum Z28/Vette valve covers on mine, what does it mean? :blam:

Clearly it has factory fuel injection and a Duh-untov 50/50 3/4 race cam.

Established street dominance amongst the luxury imports, yet again. Some fool in an Acura TL with happy tags thought he could take the Pig off a light- even through 1st, hit 2nd, and pulled on him to about 80. I backed off once his fender was at the back door. I should get kill stickers.😏

My buddy is trying to hick up the Monte on me with the wheels and stickers

One step forward, two steps back. Was able to get the circles and the Corvette off the calipers, but at the expensive of the grey coming up :blam:

Slow day today but some progress in this Texas heat. Candied and cleared the front parking lights. Drilled out mounting locations on the fiberglass bumper for lights. Installed lights and started attaching the B9914980-82CD-49AE-8D01-9A0178BF1112.jpeg005ED1AB-3CF1-43FA-B47B-0BEFAF07FE3B.jpeg5D732FEA-E031-4045-8D97-A64049D36C94.jpegfiberglass to the aluminum bumper support. Will post weight savings once completed.
