After assuming that my Holley was overjetted and causing the carbon spewing since I got the car, I finally pulled the plugs and found that some genius put old school short reach plugs in the vortec heads...new set of #3 rapid fires fixed her right up! thought she seemed a little weak, but assumed it was the terrible gearing. New afterburners to replace the bashed up F body headers happening this weekend.

Took advantage of a rare 57F day in January to paint the sandblasted GN axle before the snowstorm arrives tomorrow. Gonna be windy this afternoon....

I hope to have my hands on a set of Camaro steelies next week, just like the last posting! Damn, my brilliant idea turns out to be just the latest trend in G-bodies!?!

if it make you feel better they were the ones i had on my Monte

Mocked up the coupe from leftover parts to see if it's going to be worth building or it's going to be a donor car

Nothing crazy today, but did fix the stupid tach jumper issue, which is common with the rallye pac tach. Replaced the vents on the passenger side with some I got when I found a craigslist ad for a full set of cutlass dash trim. The woodgrain was the wrong color, and the chrome was worn pretty badly. Not bad for $25 since all I needed were the vents. I have no idea how the bottoms were busted off them both when the rest of the interior is basically mint in the car. Got the gaskets to install the afterburner headers tomorrow, since the weather is supposed to be warm, and I finally have a full day off work.

Picked up a set of nice black lower 1/4 panel trim with nice black arm rests for only $60 at the swap meet. The guy may also have the upper 1/4 trim and b pillar trim for me. Just waiting on pics.

Planning on black interior with 4th gen T/A leather buckets and 2nd gen T/A center console. And the back seat recovered to match the front.

I spent a couple hours trying to freshen up one of my 78 Salon grilles. I painted it satin black then used chrome vinyl from a sign shop on the outer face. Trimmed it out with a razor blade. I used some Testors model enamel black on the Oldsmobile emblem to make it look new again. the grilles were not shiney at all. They turned gray. I found a new in the box RH grille on ebay so I attempted to make this one look new.

Finally bit the bullet and pulled the elco apart. Pulled the motor and transmission and the front clip. Cleaned everything and ready for paint and my new motor.
