Yeah, those geriatrics can be really threatening...
GET HIM!

When my great grandfather was 70, he ran down a mugger and punched him hard enough to pop one of the mugger's eyeballs out of the socket.
Achieved a pretty major milestone working on the house after a long week off from work.
Completely redesigned and rebuilt/reset all the landscaping blocks for the main flowerbed, including levelling them and not just to the grade. Took 3 1/2 days, but I feel it was more than well worth it. Due to the grade, the blocks got tiered this time, as well as adding others up against the fence and steps so that the soil isn’t directly on the wood.

Once that was done, it was filled with fresh new soil, shrubs, perennials, and some flowers. Also bought and planted a new tree to replace the one I cut down. It’s a Swedish Aspen, looks pretty spindly and pathetic right now, but should grow quickly and fill out the area nicely. These trees don’t get very big around, but they do grow very tall, upwards of 30’.

We had a couple of days with less than nice weather, I used one of those to also install some of Ding How’s finest LED string lights to provide a little light and ambiance after dark. Hey, it makes the better half happy, so who am I to argue?

It’s a major relief to have the landscaping blocks done on this side of the steps and the foliage planted, now I can continue on restoring the 6 pillars and getting fresh paint on those. Then I’ll tackle the other side. It’ll consist of more blocks, more fresh soil, and probably a nice row of cotonie astor shrubs for some privacy.
Getting there!!
