I discovered on the JeepForum that there was a police package available on the XJ. It included an Extended Idle switch on the dash. When that switch was engaged it grounded a wire that went to the PCM which raised the idle to 1000rpm in P or N. It did that to improve cooling and alternator charging under severe conditions like flashing lights being on for long periods. But what a maintenance tool to be able to let the computer raise the idle without setting a code that the desired idle was not being met. So I learned that the solid grey wire at PCM connector terminal A-12 is the one. It is in the factory harness but dead-ends at another connector if you don't have the police package. So I just opened the harness where there was more room and separated that grey wire. I cut it and soldered a wire to that and then made a ground wire too. I sealed and shrink-wrapped all that and tucked it all back into the harness. Now I need to run that wire through the fire wall. Then locate a small toggle switch and install it on the dash. This is all I got done before it got dark and cold out.

Spent the afternoon unfvcking a bunch of underhood electric on a 75 T/A for a friend. I should have gotten a before pic; it was quite an abortion. For some reason, the HEI power wire was missing a solid 2" of insulation, right next to the valve cover! 😱 Needless to say, I fixed that. Still need to go back and do the hot battery side, get the wire nut and fusible link off the blower resistor, and pull the alarm out, but it is looking MUCH better.

Found a new home for the rooster today. Listed him for free on Craigslist and a guy and his wife and kids picked him up. He said they have some acreage and a whole bunch of free range hens, which is what that rooster needs. I'll probably get a couple more hens in the spring.

In better news, got my first egg! Not sure who laid it but it was in the corner inside the coop-

Gutted both doors for my 84 TA so I can get them to the body guy and put 3 inch exhaust under my truck. Mocked up the exhaust I removed from my truck under the bread van Im building.

Hard to believe that the original exhaust from 93 is still good. Best thing about Texas. Land Of Rust Free Cars.

That is good. I did a little research about roosters back when I had a free one. Some roosters are more aggressive than others and there isn't really anything you can do to prevent or change an human aggressive rooster. Hens can be human aggressive too.
