What style are you going for with your gbody?

Right now, running and driving would be nice. Ultimately, mine is sort of pro touring by it's original definition, not show touring as it has become.

I'm trying to go for the stock look outside, with factory colors, all the factory trim, and a new set of Rally IIs some day. Inside i am keeping the factory seats and console, but have aftermarket gauges and a B&M Megashifter in the console. Under hood, well, anything goes there! I have a 383 Chev in there now, but am looking at building a 400 Pontiac i have laying around. Suspension is going to be modified with lowering springs, tubular control arms, and other good stuff like that. I'm not sure what you would label that as, and i would rather not label it as anything more than a plan.

No, sorry to say they are two different cars. The first was purchased new by me in 1978, then later sold because gas was over $1.00. We replaced it with a 1982 Ford Escort. After many years of hearing me whine, my wife gave in for me to purchase another Monte.

This 1978 came out of South Carolina, that I found through Ebay. It had 72,000 miles and real clean. I spent 3 years of rehab with it. Starting with replacing the 305 with a mild 350. The second year was frame and start of body work. Last year with help from a friend we got it painted and back together.

I can't wait to drive it to my 30th class reunion this summer. I have a few videos of the work on You Tube if you are interested? More videos are under "3gasman" on You Tube. Thanks for the compliments, Mark

If I had the extra cash the car would get a Ls seris motor(4.8,5.3) and electric 4 spd auto transmission,some better gears.Upgrade the brakes,suspension and install some GN wheels and leave the exterior of the car "stock" looking.

I am keeping mine pretty much original. Not to insult anyone but personally I hate the big wheel and lowrider look.

All original with a little more thump in the trunk, rumble under the hood, and I can't think of anything cool to say about better braking.

From an outward appearance though it will look all stock.

This is how I want mine. Fix what's wrong with it and add some better audio. No need for 26 inch rims and the like.
