Get the Cliff Ruggles book, it's not expensive but it'll inform you and teach you all about the quadrajet.

A good exploaded diagram will help a LOT. When you order a rebuild kit for any qjet from quadrajetparts.com they include it free of charge. Get a Chevy Qjet (fuel inlet faces towards the passenger side) from anything for a 350 to a 454. The bigger engines will mostly have the 800cfm carbs. The beauty about qjets is they will only feed the engine what it needs cfm wise.

As seen on Bigfoot. Good luck with hood clearence.

We fit it under my 2" cowl hood, and I think it was on a Torker II intake at the time... it was quickly replaced by a 600 Holley DP. I think it is still kicking around the garage somewhere?
