Kanek with a 7 inch wheel and a 3.75 backspace you can pretty much fit any 14" sized passenger car tire on the market. Since most 14 inch wheels are 6 inches wide most tire companies stop at a 225 wheel; as that is maximum recommended width by the manufacturers. The widest tire that I know made for a 14 inch rim is the bf Goofrich radial T/A 245/60/14.

Thanks bud. Actually just found a set of 15x7's I may be picking up in which case I'd probably go 235/65/15 all the way around.. correct me if that that sounds like I'd be running into a problem. Thanks for the info, great thread!

The motor for the 67 isn't getting done anytime soon, so I figured I'd run the tires instead of letting them dry rot in the garage....

4" B.S. wheels with .25" Baer billet spacers, 275/60-15s on 15x8s rear, and 225/60-15s on 15x7s front. The rears rub a little on extreme, weird, off camber stuff (in and out of my driveway), but otherwise fine.

Paint matched 18X8.5 on all four corners.

4.5 backspace and -6 offset on all four corners.

245/40 fronts

275/40 rears

Stock suspension for now. No issues
I wanted to get the wheels on first, then decide how much drop is wanted/needed.

Very interesting thread!

Posted this somewhere else, but here I go:

15×8 Pontiac Rallys.
Front: 205/75R15
Rear: 225/75R15

Some rubbing in the front at full lock.

Okay guys, I picked up a set of 14x7 ss2's for my '88 Cutlass and put them on last night. The rears seem to be fine but the inside lip of the rims in the front were rubbing against the control arm very badly. I have no idea about backspacing or offset as this is my first time experimenting with new wheels, but I'm pretty sure I need a 3/8 or 7/16 spacer to fix the problem. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Looking at chrome reverse that is 3.75" in the fronts and 4.5" backspacing in the rear I believe. Will these fit or do they need spacers? Tires I currently have on are P195/70R14 up front and 205/75R15 in the rears.

on my 88 monte i used bassett imca wheels 15x8 with 4" back set, required a 1/4" spacer to give me a 1/2" between frame and tire, running 295/50r15 mickey thompson tires. rolled the fenders, that is a tough job with there being the wheel well welded to quarter. going to try 3" lowering springs to bring back down, 3" seem like a lot, but those are original springs so they probably have a 1" of sag after 25 years.. 225/50r15 will bring the front down about 2" ....use this car for road racing, what a ball.

OK I have 15x8 wheels with 4 1/2 to 5 inch back spacing. I was gonna run 215/70/15 all the way around but they look small. Can I get away with 255/60/15 in the rear and a 235/70/15 front? its a daily driver and any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated
