If you enter the VIN on the link I put at the beginning of this thread, it'll tell you where it was built.
Looks like the vin decoder only works on 17 digit vins. 78 &79 cars have 13 digit vins. All my coupes have M codes. Where were M cars built?

thank you, that got me in the right area to figure this out. cool. time to go take pictures this summer.
You're welcome. It was part of this complex, the north end of which is now a U-Pull yard....

No idea why the Google Maps search engine says Maryland above. That's a look at the relevant portion of Pontiac, MI. Do some Google searching. There is some information out there on several plants that closed in the 80's and were demolished. Engine plants, a Fisher body plant, a few assembly plants, etc. The more you look into it, it gets kinda sad but GM did it to themselves.

My car was built in Framingham, MA where the first owner worked. She specially ordered the car, had it delivered to a dealership in Milford MA.

I read somewhere that all of the Monte SS cars were built in TX. Most of the Canada cars didn't get the CCC system ( but the 442 and Monte SS did being they were built in the US )
The CDN Cutlass got the chev 305 for "base" power instead of the 307. Must have made it easier on the Oshawa and St Therese plant to do it that way.
My 87 Cutlass Supreme came from St Therese and yes it has a 305. I believe north of the border, you only find 307's in 442's.

My 86 SS was screwed together in Arlington and sold to it's first owner, Sally, Aug 86, London Ontario Canada.
