Go figuer my monte was built in Texas and it now lives in frozen upstate NY and now it don't have this engine option any more lol

I think Flint, MI for my 87 El Camino

Engine block came out of a 71 Malibu, also out of Flint, MI 03/30/1971, and sold in Van Nuys, CA

According to the previous owner, my elco had a prior career as a funeral home "flower car"

Oh and it lived part of its life in Springfield, IL. I found a registration paper from 1989 behind the glovebox when I pulled the ECU and smog spaghetti (smoghetti?)

My El Camino ("Elsie") was Hecho en Mexico. Any wonder it was built with the wrong radiator which led to severe overheating and a cracked block while under warranty?

The first owner, my uncle, bought Elsie from JBA Chevrolet in Glen Burnie, MD.

partsbox, I’d put your quality problems more on GM than “Hecho en Mexico.” I’ve owned cars built in Germany, Japan, Alabama, Tennessee and Mexico. The most trouble-free have been from Tennessee, Japan and Mexico. The German one was a complete turd, quality-wise.

My '79 El Camino was built in Fremont CA and lived there until I bought it and had it shipped across the US to Greenville, SC two years ago.
