I use rental cars a lot for work travel. My profiles all have full size sedans saved as my standard rental but it seems that lately I have to fight to get one. Often, the millenial dipshyt's there offer me a crappy Hyundai Santa fe , Kia Sorrento or the like and then call it an upgrade. Personally, I despise the poor handling, high driving position, wind noise and poor gas mileage these things get not to mention the they are as dorky as a minivan. My preferred driving cars are the Chevy Impala, Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima / Maxima or a Chevy Malibu. Anyone else wonder why CUV's are all the craze these days?

for many the vehicle has nothing to do with it, they are more interested on what technology comes with it. The bigger the screen the more apps they can have

Let me outlaw cell phone use, but put a LED Screen the size of a Laptop on the dash for you to use.... Gov't at work....

I hate CUVs!!! My wife has a '15 RAV4- can't stand that damned thing. It rides like sh*t, has a touch screen (who thought that was a good idea in a car?), and constantly downshifts trying to maintain cruise altitude.

This is the best description I saw-

The only things you need when picking a car are apparently:

The ability to carry way too much stuff you didn’t need home from walmart
The ability to keep all the crap that accumulates in there without cleaning it out before the end of the lease term
The ability to survive hitting whatever that was you didn’t see while you were texting
A place to keep your energy drinks
It to look like you have an active outdoor lifestyle

I drive what I drive for a reason: I am not a mindless zombie waiting for the end of my utterly meaningless life.

I have a soul and it is engaged in every facet of everything I do (especially driving) and everything I allow into my life adds value.

Life is too short to drive boring cars.

Also, your CUV or crossover or mommy-mobile is NOT an SUV - those, by definition, had full frames.

RAV4 with the 3.5 V6 is actually pretty stout. That's the only positive I could come up with.

sad thing is, the wife wants one...doesn't care what brand it is, as long as it has a sunroof....:wtf: trying to steer her to something the size of an explorer or the like, and something without that d#$ned cvt transmission. my niece just shelled out $4200 for one in her Murano, because noone around here can rebuild them.

everyone wants the latest and greatest gadgets, but want to know why it costs so much when they break down. I'll keep my older stuff, even my F150 has manual windows and only a single disc player!
