Why do people do this

all it needs to be road ready is the rear lines put in, i have them mostly complete but tbh i just picked up this crusty 240 that i have been dreaming about for the past 2 years View attachment 70770

Finally got the 240 you've been wanting, huh? Good for you. I'm gonna go ahead and warn you, as much trouble as you had on the Regal, don't be surprised if something on that 240 gives you as much trouble or more. Trust me, all vehicles can be aggravating to work on at times. I'm not trying to discourage you, just giving you a realistic heads up. If that's the car you really want, I hope it works out for you and makes you happy. I remember how happy and excited I was to get my Monte Carlo. I hadn't had a G Body in years and I wanted another one really bad. There's something really satisfying about getting the car you want, even if it's not perfect.

All cars have their own set of idiosyncrasies as Opie pointed out. I feel G-body cars are among some of the easiest cars to work on. It's good to have knowledge on a variety of cars.
Btw, the 240SX is a cool body style.

Good factory cores that are untouched by remanufacturers are worth some money. Reman companies often butcher up cores. Wonder why Chevy guys don't like Qjets? I like mine on my SBC.
Because edelbrock and holley exist. They're "simpler". As are most chevy folk. 😛

I recently sold a 800 cfm qudrajet for $300 and just bought a recent rebuilt 750 cfm quadrajet last night for $80. I have 4 quadrajets currently.
I've had around 12 carbs at one point. Two Carters (one was off a junkyard '71 malibu, brand new. Actually was a weber. Second a rare 1966 327 AVS. Got it from the auto shop room at my school last year. They're gutting the program so the "teacher" let us basically take anything that wasn't bolted down.) Then numerous BOP 800cfms, two of which are for my sbb, and a '70 455 750cfm Buick which I was told was for a 350, but was mislead. Oh well. Oh, also scored a dual feed 750 vac sec holleyf or 40 bucks. Kinda dirty and dried out, but solid. And for some reason I keep not throwing away my electronic dualjet off of my 231. It's in tip top shape. Someone somewhere wants it.

RWD, longitudinally mounted V engines, full perimeter frame, automatic trans, pretty much the last easy thing gm built that the average joe could tinker on.

Technically i could keep both cars, but i need a garage space for my 240 and the 240 build would go extremely slow considering i got 400 in my bank and i am starting college soon

I've worked on a variety of cars and I agree with you on that. I hate Volkswagens with a passion, along with most other German cars. They're really different from American cars. In my opinion, they're a pain in the *ss.

Why do so many people say that about the G Bodies but forget about B bodies. B bodies were full frame, rear wheel drive and made that way till '96.
