I've worked on a variety of cars and I agree with you on that. I hate Volkswagens with a passion, along with most other German cars. They're really different from American cars. In my opinion, they're a pain in the *ss.
.
Opie,
With all due respect...I love older air cooled VW's and Porsches. I have owned and worked on them over the years. I admit they're quirky, but relatively easy to work on once you kinda get the hang of how they're put together.
I can't say the same about BMW's or Audis, though.

I should have specified, my experience has been with newer model stuff. 2000 and above. I've never messed with the older VW's.

Yeah, the newer stuff just doesn't do it for me.

Different strokes for different folks! Start a build thread on here for your new car. I would like to learn some stuff and follow along.

I will probably catch some flak, but I don't care. Back when the cutlass was demoted to cruiser status, I had the chance at buying a 240 but ended up with a celica instead. Them 240's can be some really fun cars with the proper mods. Throw a SR20DET(jdm 2.0L turbo) or a Nissan Skyline RB26 in the engine hole, and it makes for a quick little car!

However, there is no replacement for displacement! It's soooo much better to turn the key for 8 cylinders that chug, light the tires at will, and rattle windows!!!

Haha if I wanted the v8 I would've kept the Regal, but yes I have a little sr20 in there and the car weighs near nothing

It already has an sr20....nice! If i recall they weigh 2600ish or so. If the sr20 dies, do an LS swap...400hp would make it a rocket!

In my defense I had realy good transaction buying off Craigslist today. We were both honest and straight forward with each other and it went smooth.
