It's ugly, but I've seen worse. It looks that rear deck and window frames seem to be intact. Good luck im sure it will be better than new once you do your thang to it.
never understand these people..... everyone knows duct tape works much better! That's kinda rough. But fixable. And from your "juggernaut" thread you will have no problems fixing her up. Never quite liked the vinyl tops. My roof is terrible with no vinyl at all. Never had one. Rotted under a tree before I got it and someone used household expanding foam for repairs. Looking foward to your build.
If the vinyl is in good shape I would just dye it black, years ago they used to sell a kit with an applicator and I did a few and they came out perfect with no streaks but if I was going to go through the trouble of removing a vinyl there definitely wouldn't be one going back on.My car has a landau roof and it was left in place when the car was painted. There's no indication of rust but I'm still scared. Why did I buy a car with a landau roof??!! If it ever runs again I want to change the vinyl from burgandy to black. I guess I will find out then.
Mine has a small tear in it and the stitching has rotted away. I don't want to paint the car so the vinyl is staying. If the vinyl is in good shape I would just dye it black, years ago they used sell a kit with an applicator and I did a few and they came out perfect with no streaks but if I was going to go through the trouble of removing a vinyl there definitely wouldn't be one going back on.
Uh Oh, tear and and rotted away are not words I want to hear about with anything touching the roof of a car.😉Mine has a small tear in it and the stitching has rotted away. I don't want to paint the car so the vinyl is staying.
