I totally agree. I started at oldspower.com, and they have a bunch of snobby people...granted not everyone lol, b/c I know some of our members are there too, I look on both sites when I need parts and see the dual posting.
My 84 cutlass had the old boat anchor 231 buick v6. I swapped in a 350 chevy v8 and posted a few questions on oldspower. I got attacked with people crying about why would you put a chevy in an oldsmobile and then people whinning about how thay never put chevy's in oldsmobiles and yata yata yata.
That was the last time I posted on that site
I got tons of help, input and encouragement on my build-up. I have also gotten ideas for my build from seeing our members rides and even met some of you guys at shows. I have found this site to be great and have not gotten many of what I would consider rude or snobby people.
That all being said I think a lot of the anger in some of these situations like the guys with low riders and big rims and hopper cars stems from the fact that parts availability for our g-bodies is low and also expensive. When more manufacturers start making more parts I think there will be less and less anger. The reason I say this is because I appreciate all types of cars but when I see someone like the hopper cars...when I see them standing outside the car with the remote control and flipping the around with no remorse for the driver side door or fender I could have used when they destroy it. That's about the only thing that gets me. I like seeing all the other variations of custom g-bodies. So I say just post it if YOU want to and just don't pay attention to haters. Low-riders, big rims, small rims, stock guys, hardcore racers, cruisers, hot rods, show cars, daily drivers, pro-tourers, rat rods and whatever else there is out there should post what they built. We should all live the that golden rule "If you don't have anything nice to say...the stfu."
...and I apologize for the rant
