The heads will most likely be cracked. But, it will be a hydraulic roller cam!

My 1991 4WD square body Suburban has that style posi.
My 1989 2WD long bed has one.

I bought one from a 2WD Suburban to swap into an 83 C10 shortwide with a 454.

They are out there. 30 spline started in 88 or 89.

Kind of like aluminum core supports, aluminum hoods and trunk lids for G-body cars or 8.5 rearends in Turbo Buicks, Olds 442, and some wagons.

30 spline axles started part way through '88. '89 and up are all 30 spline.

I'll do some more research and see about the other posi units.

I did not make up the ebay adds. They have been using clutch type posi units in GM rearends forever.

I'm not saying your wrong. I just haven't been able to find anywhere that says anything about the '88-'98 Chevy & GMC trucks coming with any other kind of limited slip or locker other than the Gov-Loc. Maybe I'm researching in the wrong places.

Well, the truck has decided that it's time for another repair. This time it's the steering column. It was getting so bad that it was getting dangerous to drive. I tried tightening up the 4 bolts for the tilt but that didn't fix the slop. The column still moved in and out. I went and got a replacement column from a small junk yard a few miles from my house. Now I'm waiting on my fiance to get here with a steering wheel puller so I can remove the wheel and change the multi function switch from my old column to the replacement column.

What's the verdict? I too hate messing with column internals...I've had my cutlass column apart several times. I know it's cold down there in the hollar, keep us posted.

The truck is back together and ready to go. I only had 1 "extra" part. That was the key buzzer. I left it out. I hate those things. While I was out yesterday I picked up a new key switch for the truck. No more screwdriver key!

And yes, it was pretty damn cold last night!

That's a fully equipped truck, I have seen duel temperature zones but never seen a radio for the driver and a radio for the passenger....😀

Hey man, you realize this is a Sierra SLX, right? State of the art, 1988. You can't do any better than this right here man. I'm telling you.
