no test drive this week, gotta wait till the carb is rebuilt prolly the week after next. I CANT WAIT!
well, i rented the thread chaser kit from autozone and im debaiting on not giving it back lol. so now what i have left to do is change out the cam gears, but i have a delema, i can get the dots to alighn on the cam and crank gears. so what i wanna do is just leave it the way it is and not replace the cam gears. its a double gear chain...well heres a pic...
it doesnt look warn or messed up in any way, so i think imma just leave it the way it is.
anywho back to what needs to get done. gotta drop the oil pan to replace the timing cover then replace the oil pan. then i need to drop the trans pan and replace the kickdown cable. the trans filter was replaced over a year ago and it hasent been used since. so after thats done...uh. oh get the carb back and hooked up, fill fluids and turn the oil pump to get everything lubed. and get everything set to starter up!

oh i forgot i need a new battery and alternader to add to the list, again...
every time i got a battery for my elky the parts store says its a side post battery, but its been a top post since i bought it. is that right?

Originally they were side terminal cables, but evidently yours got changed somewhere down the line to a top post cable.
well saturday i was gonna drop the oil pan and seal up the timing cover. so as i was dropping the oil pan, i realised, i cant get it out without lifting the engine(POOP!) so what i did was seal up the timing cover and put the oil pan back on but i felt like crap that i couldnt get it buttoned up and ready for the carb. then sunday it rained all day so that went to sh*t. so this thursday its supposed to be nice and imma drop the transpan and put in the new kickdown cable, then take the ONE trans mount bolt to te autozone to get 2 grade 8 ones and HOPEfully get this guys on craigslist selling the dubble hump trans x member for $200. that would be ideal, but prolly not likely...knowing my luck 
so NEXT week ill have $$ for the carb and then, i dunno..we'll see.. thanx fer lookin tho!

YAY CARB! well last night when i got home at 11:30 pm, my buddy dropped off my carb. so ill put that on and hook it up, then re check my valve lash, and put the oil pan gasket on(or try to), then fill up the fluids, hook up the new detent cable, all the vaccume lines(trans, brake booster, distrib.) and find the tool to turn the oil pump with my cordless drill. and then(NO AND THEN!) i need to figure out how to get my exhaust hooked up. im thinkin i might save up for a full exhaust, headers back. but i still am gonna need a new or used double hump x member for the trans. all this has to wait till after this friday, payday. so there an update. I CANT WAIT!
