today was awesome out so i decided to do something about my lack of brake lights. so i started by removing the "body by fisher" plate and under it was 5 wires that goto the cubbie hole and the out to the tail lights. well remember the wire that was held up by a leather shoelace? yeah well it sux. its about a 4 foot section of wier above the frame on the driverside behind the rear tire. i had to replace 5, 2 foot sections of the wires and now that werk awesome! problem solved, right...WRONG! well after testing everything and everything else i found out that where the problem is some where between the switch and the fusebox. but i also have all these connections that arent connected. heres a bunch of pics with discriptions:

heres the fusebox

wtf are these wires? i tested the brake lights with these wires all hooked up and unhooked the switches and used a wire to cross the connections and bupkis...still no brake lights.

if you look at the fuse box on the lower right theres 5 wires, thats the wires that go back to the tail lights. so the problem is between the that and the brake switch. HALP!?

heres some pic of random connections that go nowhere and this other switch that i have no idea what it does. i tried using it to turn the lights on and off and no dice.

the blue and green are for your back up lites and attach the column near the firewall

for the brake switch did you car come with cruise control?....there needs to be a hot wire feed to the switch at all times. I think the orange is the 12 volt feed and the white is the wire for the brake lites. I know the third brake lite is feed with a blue wire but I can't say for sure that blue one is for that purpose...

Dude im having the same problem as you. Exactly the same :x

I forgot to mention that is for your brake pressure switch

and this is why I think your car came with cruise control..

i think the car had cruse control, but thats long gone. the only way i know it had CC is that the turn signal has the button on the end for it. if ya really wanna see what im dealing with heres a pic with my camera under the brake pedal:

WAH! 😢 and for the brake pressure switch that just goes to the dummy lights huh?

oh ok, so if that thing was hooked up right id have that light burning a hole in my retna. im thinking my best bet is to goto the yard and find a monte and strip the whole dash down to the fairewall and keep all the screws and nuts and what not and then take my dash out and wire it up the right way...pontigp, can you come over to my house and play? 😀

if I lived close by I'd be happy to help you....I just got some bi-focal contacts and I can almost see what I'm doing.. 8)
