Did you swap the whole dash harness or convert yours? I'm in the process of swapping my dash too and having some trouble. I have both harnesses but my Grand Lemans dash is hacked up. I'm in a bind and need pinouts for both dash harnesses before I do something I'll regret. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
JL,
I used my existing Malibu harness and re-pinned the Pontiac connectors. Naturally the plugs are numbered. Fortunately, I had what was left of the GP harness. It was hacked up when I removed the dash from the donor car.
Is this dash going into a Cutlass? Did you also remove the ducts from the Pontiac?
I can get you the pinout information.

This thread has a pinout diagram that I found very helpful. http://gbodyforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1 ... ng#p397348
I have the color codes that correspond numbers to colors.

That is one of the cool things about GM. They have a tendency to keep wire color-codes pretty consistent from year to year and model to model.

Thank goodness for consistent color coding...

I'm installing into a 82 Malibu wagon. I did get the ducts as well as some other interior plastics. I'll be dying them black. I've already done the dash and a pillars. What's getting me is that there is 2 different gauge plugs, the speedo/clock and fuel and idiot lights. I think I could manage if it were just the one plug.

Don't be intimidated by the two plugs instead of one, it's easier than you think. I would recommend using a small jewelers screwdriver to undo the pins.
I assume the Pontiac plugs are still connected to the wiring harness. ..if so, just write down which color went to what number on the plug. It will make it easier for you.
You'll also have to add speednuts to the top center part of the dash where the speaker grille goes. . Malibus only used them in the defroster vents.
Also, some of the wiring might be too short to extend to the plugs. That's where the extra hacked up harness comes in handy.

the two plugs together take more wires than the single Malibu plug. When I first looked at it, I thought it was straight forward until i realized there was a different number of wires. If I take #1 out of the Malibu plug, which Lemans plug do I put it in since both have a #1? I just don't want to burn anything to the ground. lol. If you could email me the Lemans diagram, I think it would be helpful to me, Malibu to if you have it. Thanks again for the help.

Don't worry, man, you're not going burn up anything. You just got to be patient and careful. I've seen many of these dashes installed in Malibus, so don't worry.
I'll send the info to you this evening.

when I put some aftermarket gauges in I used the circuit board to tell me what each wire was for

I bolted the console and seats in place. Also started to screw in the A & B pillar plastics, kick panels, weatherstripping, and headliner.
Still working on the door panels.
