I have been plugging away every free chance I get. I hope to get the body back on the chassis next weekend.

Keep up the momentum, Jim. Before you know it you'll be back behind the wheel again.

I picked up a few additional yards of carpet. I cut out and glued in new carpet in the lower door panel inserts and cut out pieces for the cargo floor/ seat back areas.
I didn't take any pics, but I will add a few when I get a chance. The weather had been nice and mild, so I took full advantage of it.

....and my CS130 alternator crapped out...not charging. I got it tested, and it failed. I may just buy the components and rebuild it myself...or I'll just buy a upgraded "iceberg" replacement online.

Yeah, I'm glad I got something accomplished. I think the mild weather helps as far as motivation is concerned. Oh, and I had my new windshield installed and 1/4 windows about two weeks ago.
It feels good driving the old gal again. I drove it back from the glass shop. It hasn't left the garage since.
I will get some pics posted...

Lets see some of those photos!

The rebuilt is easy, but a higher output alternator is always nice. 😀

Guys, I'll have some pics soon...I promise.
The interior is almost complete. The door panels are in with the new carpet inserts. They look good. I still have the tailgate panel to put on, but I can't seem to get the hatch release working properly, so I'm holding off on that right now.

I was hoping to get the car outside, but the alt is out. I ended up ordering a new one with cooling upgrades. It wasn't that much more than buying all the parts and doing it myself. In fact, it's all apart on the bench and there's really nothing to it.
I may still rebuild it and keep it aside as a spare.

Is there a way to test the voltage regulator? I'm think that went bad. The brushes were a bit worn, and the stator and rotor tested OK,,and after pulling it apart thinking the bridge rectifier had a bad diode, that tested okay as well... :?

Here's a few pics I took the other day. I installed my door panels with new carpet inserts. Many thanks to Kevin for finding the door panels for me. I don't think I'd be able to find ones this nice to match my interior... 😀

I also painted my bumpers a sort of platinum silver with a touch of gold.

I also replaced my alternator with an upgraded CS130 and also installed the AC Delco SI to CS connector and also a 4 ga. battery cable. It charges like a champ.
