X pipe

This is a subject that comes up again & again. Either an x or a h pipe have useful functions such as physically allowing each side of engine to breathe through both mufflers. But it's only a few horsepower, results vary & are better for street or road race than drag race. Either can alter sound for better or worse depending on variables & opinions.
I actually will be trying out 3 in a row later, which with my equal length tri-y headers, should give a sound similar to 180 degree headers by further blending the varying pulses.. I do have stainless v-band fittings to easily take apart though, life doesn't always need to be a fight.
But that's me . I'm just wierd.

I don't care if an X pipe was worth 50 horsepower, I absolutely WON'T have another on any car let alone a daily driver like this car is. Once this system rots away it will be stock manifolds and true duals all the way back.
You just have to design it with a "drop out" section to give you full access to your trans/driveshaft etc.

This is what I did with my X pipe section.
Made flanges for where it bolts to the tail pipes and the whole X pipe can be out in a couple of minutes.

The compact X pipe made the dual exhaust sound amazing. But most of mine is run under the passenger crossmember hump, so not in the way. Any crossover changes sound but does get in the way.
