Had to convert to carpenter mode since my 6 year old learned the lesson yesterday morning why jumping on the bed is a bad idea! She broke it good, but a quick trip to lowe's got me what i needed.

As in hotrodding...when something breaks, build it better and stronger! View attachment 63283 View attachment 63284
Damn! Over engineered. It would take a big girl to break a 2x4 jumping on the bed. Nice fix.

Geez Jared, callin my kid fat lol! Just kiddin man...i actually used 2x2 ballusters for the side pieces, plated them together and screwed to the side rails. Then used 1x4's for the slats...it's pretty damn strong now!

I told her, she breaks it again if jumping I'm getting out the recip saw and she gets to watch me cut it up! Pretty sure that won't happen again.

Thx for those gaskets steve !! Now that's another thing on my to-do list.

I'll let you know soon as they arrive....

I ordered intake gaskets for my vortec set up again, going to try the Felpro 1255 again and torque the bolts to 30 lbs this time, like it was suggested by a few of you on the forum...

It was 50% off day at the Picknpull, so I just got back from the junkyard after putting in 8 hours n search of Miata and Jaguar parts, but scored 2000 2wd Blazer spindles and caliper brackets for $16 each + $3 core and got 3 Jeep grand Cherokee Steering shafts for $6 each.

Drilled a seat bracket off of a donor car my friend has. Now, just need to find some seats for the coupe.
